What Lightning Bug has done for its clients
To provide an insight into the way we work to raise the profile and public awareness of our clientele, please find below a breakdown of the actions Lightning Bug has performed for some of its customers.
These case studies illustrate how a custom fitted Lightning Bug viral marketing or SEO campaign can transform the fortunes of a business.
Case 1: The Start-up
(Ministry of Football)
Background
Ministry of Football is an innovative football technique coaching system initially based in the North London area. Catering for both boys and girls of all abilities it mixes dance music, skills coaching and indoor football and aims to develop fitness, confidence and creativity in children.
An unusual set of circumstances applied to the Ministry of Football account, being a new start up with an initially limited catchment area, but the potential and intention to expand out of North London, and eventually nationwide.
Actions
After assessing the unique needs and circumstances of Ministry of Football we implemented a hybrid marketing strategy utilising a mix of traditional local and Web 2.0 viral marketing methods. The campaign included:
- » A viral campaign centred around a series of short, low budget Ministry of Football branded skills coaching videos
- » Development of brand image and personality
- » Website SEO analysis, tag optimisation and content advice
- » Writing and promotion of high quality articles
- » Directory submissions
- » Targeted, non-intrusive blog and message board commenting
- » Relevant, high quality link building
- » Pamphleting and local promotional activity
- » Press releases and local media coverage
Outcome
The local campaign has been a resounding success so far, with the number of new students attending sessions more than doubling in three months. Due to the increased demand new locations and classes are being added soon.
The viral marketing and SEO campaigns have also been successful. The coaching videos have been watched over 250,000 times in seven months and are already being employed by youth leagues in America and by Watford FC girls. After viewing the videos former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson expressed interest in Ministry of Football and preliminary discussions were held with Manchester City.
Before Lightning Bug's search engine optimisation work Ministry of Football was languishing in the lower reaches of the SERPS for its chosen keywords, it now regularly ranks at number one for Google, MSN and Yahoo searches on those same words.
